A well-maintained car gets the most from a remap. If your car is due a service — especially oil, air filter, and fuel filter — it's worth getting that done before or at the same time as the tune.
If you're adding significant power — especially Stage 2 — it's worth considering whether your brakes are up to the job. We can advise on upgrades if needed, or at minimum ensure your standard brakes are in top condition before we tune.
On manual cars, a remap puts more torque through the clutch. If yours is already showing signs of wear, it'll likely get worse after a remap. We'll check clutch condition before tuning and let you know if it needs replacing first.
Before any remap, we run a full diagnostic scan to check for fault codes, sensor readings, and system health. We also do a pre-tune dyno run to establish your car's baseline power and torque, so we can show you exactly what the remap has achieved.
The most common concern people have about remapping is reliability. Done properly, a Stage 1 remap works within your engine's safe limits — we're adjusting fuelling, boost pressure, and ignition timing to unlock performance the manufacturer left on the table. We always check the car's mechanical condition first.
Book in for a half-day session. We'll check the car over, run a baseline dyno test, carry out the remap, and then do comparison runs to show you the gains. You'll drive away with a printout of your before-and-after power figures.

After a remap, use good quality fuel — don't cheap out on supermarket diesel if you've had a performance tune. Keep up with your servicing, and if you notice anything unusual, get it checked promptly.
