The workshop is in Birnam, on the edge of Dunkeld, a couple of minutes off the A9. That position is why the customer list spreads far wider than the village: Perth and Scone to the south, Bankfoot and Stanley on the way, Blairgowrie and Coupar Angus to the east, Pitlochry and Aberfeldy to the north, and Crieff and Auchterarder across Strathearn.
Most jobs are booked in advance, so people drop the car in on the way to work and collect on the way back. If you are coming from further out, tell us when you book and we will try to get the work done in a single visit rather than having you make the trip twice.
What we do for people out of town
MOT testing at £54.85, servicing, brakes, clutches, timing belts, suspension, diagnostics, welding and ECU remapping are all done in-house. Diagnostics matter most for people travelling in: a proper fault diagnosis before parts are ordered is what stops a second trip.
For anything that needs a part on back order we will book you a return slot rather than keep the car for days. We would rather you had a working car on your drive while we wait for the courier.
Getting here and what to expect
The garage sits just off the A9 at Birnam, so it is an easy detour for anyone commuting between Perth and Pitlochry. There is space to leave a car for the day and the key drop means you are not tied to opening time.
Bob has 32 years on the tools, so the diagnosis you get is a mechanic's judgement, not a code reader's guess. You are told what is genuinely dangerous, what can wait until the next service, and what is not worth spending money on at all.

Can I leave the car for the day?
Yes. Most people drop off in the morning and collect after work; there is a key drop if you arrive before we open.

Anyone can book an MOT with us — the test is £54.85 and the same rules apply wherever the car is registered.
