Disconnect the battery before unplugging the harness in a van with aftermarket wiring.

Trafic II (2001–2014): single-DIN unit in the upper dash pod. Two U-shaped keys release it, but the surround is tight — take the trim ring off first.
Trafic III (2014 on): the unit sits deeper with a wider fascia; some vans run the Renault Radio Connect unit with a different menu structure.
