Is a Dacia radio code the same system as Renault? In practice, yes. Dacia head units are Renault-group hardware, so they use the same pre-code identifier and the same button sequences to enter the code.
Where is the pre-code on a Dacia Sandero? On the barcode label on the top or side of the head unit casing, marked PRE-CODE. Some units will also display it after holding button 6 with the radio switched off and the ignition on.
My Dacia has Media Nav — does it need a code? Media Nav touchscreen systems generally do not ask for a radio code. If yours is asking for a PIN, it is more likely a security or navigation lock than a classic radio code.
Will the code be in the service book? Sometimes. Dacia dealers often recorded the code on a card in the handbook wallet when the car was new. It is worth a look before anything else.
