Why the Toyota tyre pressure light is on
Toyota TPMS uses individual wheel sensors that report pressure to the ECU. Light comes on if any wheel is more than 25% below the stored 'set' value, if a sensor stops responding (dead battery), or if you've changed wheels and not done the SET.
Toyota tyre pressure light reset — step by step
- Inflate all four tyres cold to the placard pressures (driver's door pillar).
- Switch ignition ON, engine off.
- Locate the TPMS Set button — on Yaris/Aygo it's left of the steering wheel; on Corolla/CHR it's in the glovebox; on RAV4/Hilux/Land Cruiser it's near the OBD port under the dash.
- Press and hold the TPMS Set button until the TPMS warning light on the dash blinks slowly three times, then release.
- The system is now learning — keep ignition on for at least 1 minute, then drive for 10–30 minutes at over 15mph for the sensors to report and the light to clear.

If the light won't go off
If after a 30-minute drive the light is still on, run a Toyota-compatible scan tool (Techstream or Autel) and read the TPMS sensor IDs — a zero or non-responsive ID means that sensor's battery is dead. Most common on 2016 and older cars now.
