Why the SEAT tyre pressure light is on
SEAT infers pressure from ABS wheel-speed data rather than wheel-mounted sensors. The light means one wheel is rotating out of step with the others, or that all four have dropped below the stored baseline — which is exactly what happens on the first cold mornings of autumn.
SEAT tyre pressure light reset — step by step
- Inflate all four tyres cold to the placard values on the driver's door pillar or fuel filler flap.
- Turn the ignition ON, engine off.
- On Leon Mk3/Mk4, Ibiza Mk5, Arona, Ateca, Tarraco: Menu → Vehicle → Tyre Pressure Monitoring → SET.
- On older Ibiza Mk4 and Leon Mk2 with a physical button: press and hold the TPMS button below the climate controls for 3 seconds until it beeps.
- The warning should clear immediately; if not, a short drive completes the relearn.

Be straight about what a plug is: a get-you-home repair for small punctures in the central three-quarters of the tread. Never plug sidewall or shoulder damage, drive gently afterwards, and have the tyre inspected or replaced by a tyre specialist as soon as you can.
