Specialist ECU remapping for cars, vans and campervans across Perthshire — bespoke maps, never off-the-shelf files.

What a remap actually changes

A remap rewrites the software maps in your engine ECU — fuelling, boost pressure, ignition timing and torque limiters — to suit how the vehicle is actually used. On a modern turbo diesel that usually means noticeably more mid-range pull and better driveability at motorway speeds, not just a bigger number.

Every map we write is built for the individual vehicle and road-tested before you get the keys back. We do not buy generic files and flash them in.

Diesel, petrol and campervan tuning

Turbo diesels respond best, particularly the common 2.0 and 2.2 units, where the standard map is set conservatively for global markets and fuel qualities. Petrol turbos also gain well; naturally aspirated petrol engines gain very little and we will tell you that rather than take your money.

Campervans and motorhomes are a large part of what we do. A heavily loaded van on a Highland road benefits far more from mid-range torque than from peak power, and the map is written accordingly.

Economy, reliability and warranty

Driven the same way, a well-written map on a diesel usually returns a small improvement in fuel consumption because you are using less throttle for the same progress. Drive it harder and you will use more — physics does not negotiate.

We tune within safe limits for the hardware. Clutch condition, DPF state and gearbox torque limits are all checked and discussed before we start, and we will decline a job where the mechanical condition will not support it.

Frequently asked questions

Will a remap damage my engine?

Not when it is written within the hardware's safe limits by somebody who checks the vehicle's condition first. Problems come from generic files pushed too far on tired mechanicals.

Does a remap improve fuel economy?

Driven the same way, a diesel typically sees a modest improvement because less throttle is needed for the same progress. Drive it harder and consumption rises.

Can a remap be removed?

Yes. The original file is stored and can be written back to the ECU.

How long does a remap take?

Usually two to three hours including the road test. Call 01350 727 276 to book.
