A Vauxhall Corsa radio asks for its security code after the head unit loses its permanent live feed — a flat battery, a battery change, a jump start or the radio being unplugged. The code is held against the serial number of that head unit, not against the registration or VIN. Fitted units: Blaupunkt CDR500, CAR300, CD30, CD30 MP3. Check the service book wallet for a Vauxhall code card first. Once you have the serial, enter it in the radio code finder on this page.
Radio codes belong to the head unit serial number, not the vehicle registration or VIN.
A flat battery, battery replacement or radio removal is what triggers the code prompt.
Covers Vauxhall Corsa 2000 to 2019 (Corsa C, D and E).
Bob's never displays a guessed or generated code — if a working code can't be retrieved you get a full refund.
2000 to 2019 (Corsa C, D and E). Blaupunkt CDR500, CAR300, CD30, CD30 MP3
How to find the serial number:
Check the service book wallet for a Vauxhall code card first.
Turn the ignition to accessory and see whether the unit offers a unit-information display.
If not, unclip the trim surround and use four flat extraction keys in the corner slots.
Read the label on the top of the casing and note the full serial, GM prefix included.
How to key the code in:
Presets 1 to 4 each step their own digit up by one.
Hold preset 4 or press OK to submit depending on the unit.
SAFE disappears and the radio plays.
Worth knowing:
Corsa C (2000–2006): Blaupunkt CDR500 or CAR30 units. The serial is on the casing label — expect to remove the unit.
Corsa D (2006–2014): CD30 or CD30 MP3 with the keypad fascia. Some firmware shows unit information on screen; most do not.
Corsa E (2014–2019): R4.0 IntelliLink and touchscreen systems are vehicle-coded and do not use a four-digit audio code.
The Corsa D fascia surround unclips by hand before the four corner extraction keys go in — do not lever against the vents.
Why does my Corsa radio say SAFE? SAFE is Vauxhall's anti-theft prompt. The unit lost permanent live — usually a flat or disconnected battery — and needs its four-digit code before it will play.
Do I need to remove a Corsa D radio? Usually yes. Only some CD30 firmware shows unit information on screen, so the casing label is the dependable source of the serial.
Does a Corsa E need a radio code? No. IntelliLink systems from 2014 onward are coded to the vehicle rather than locked with a four-digit audio code.
