A Honda Jazz radio asks for its security code after the head unit loses its permanent live feed — a flat battery, a battery change, a jump start or the radio being unplugged. The code is held against the serial number of that head unit, not against the registration or VIN. Fitted units: Honda CD, DAB and touchscreen units. Ignition off. Once you have the serial, enter it in the radio code finder on this page.

Radio codes belong to the head unit serial number, not the vehicle registration or VIN.

A flat battery, battery replacement or radio removal is what triggers the code prompt.

Covers Honda Jazz 2001 to present.

Bob's never displays a guessed or generated code — if a working code can't be retrieved you get a full refund.

2001 to present. Honda CD, DAB and touchscreen units

How to find the serial number:

Ignition off. Press and hold presets 1 and 6.

While still holding, turn the ignition to accessory.

The serial appears, sometimes split across two displays — note both halves.

If nothing shows, the label on the casing carries the serial and the unit must come out.

How to key the code in:

Presets 1 to 6 each enter their own number.

Enter the digits in order — four or five depending on the unit.

Some units accept automatically, others need SEEK or ENTER.

Worth knowing:

2001–2008: single-DIN CD units. Hold presets 1 and 6 and switch the ignition on to display the serial.

2008–2015: CD/DAB units with the same trick on most builds, sometimes with the power button held too.

2015 on: touchscreen systems are not protected by a classic four-digit code.

Some Jazz units use a five-digit code entered on presets 1 to 6.

How do I show the serial on a Jazz radio? With the ignition off, hold presets 1 and 6 and turn the ignition on while still holding. The serial appears on the display on most Jazz units.

My Jazz radio shows E That is a lockout after failed attempts. Leave the ignition in accessory with the radio powered for around an hour before trying again.

Is the Jazz code four or five digits? Both exist. Older units use four digits on presets 1 to 4; several later units use five digits entered on presets 1 to 6.
