Bob's Mechanical Repairs is run by Bob, who has spent 32 years on the tools. That is his personal experience in the motor trade, not the age of the garage or time spent at the same premises. Today he brings that practical knowledge to the workshop in Birnam, Dunkeld: diagnosing the fault before drawing up the parts list and explaining what genuinely needs attention.

From the Tools to BMR Digital
My background is in fixing cars. Over 32 years in the motor trade, I've built up the practical experience that I bring to Bob's Mechanical Repairs today. Running a workshop also means dealing with bookings, job cards, customer records and invoices — the work around the repairs that customers don't always see.
That side of the job led me to build tools around the way we actually work. What started with a workshop diary developed into a garage management system for job cards, MOT bookings, customer records and invoicing. BMR Digital grew from those practical workshop needs, rather than a separate career away from the trade.

How we work
Every job starts with a proper look and a quote. If we find something extra while the car is in the air, we ring you with the price and the options before doing anything. Nothing is fitted without a yes.
We use supplier-verified parts as standard and will happily explain the difference between a budget and a quality option on brakes, tyres or filters rather than quietly fitting the cheapest thing on the shelf.
What we work on
Petrol, diesel and hybrid cars, vans and light 4x4s of most makes — MOT testing, servicing, brakes, clutches, timing belts, suspension, exhausts, tyres, electrical faults and ECU remapping. Remaps are road-tested and written to suit how the vehicle is actually used.
